BLT Mock Steakwiches
By losing the bread or bun, you can actually enjoy your steak again. The BLT mock steakwiches have all the taste and flavor of a steak sandwich without the high calories, fats and sodium.Try one tonight for a quick snack and your family will soon be begging for more. Ingredients- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 4 portions
- Non-stick cooking spray
- 2 medium Roma tomatoes, sliced lengthwise
- 4 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
- dash basil/oregano
- 4 fresh leaf lettuce leaves
- 3 T. bacon bits
- 4 tsp. olive oil
- 2 tsp. balsamic vinegar, optional
Trim all of the fat from the steak. Cut into quarters. Sprinkle pepper on each piece. Spray a non-stick skillet, heat to warm, add the meat and cook until desired doneness is reached. Transfer steaks to serving plates. Layer cheese, tomato, lettuce, basil/oregano and bacon bits on top. Drizzle each with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
