Country Buttermilk Dressing

For a straight from the farm freshness and flavor, country buttermilk dressing is great for a tossed salad or as a topping for many meat or breakfast entrees. Regular buttermilk dressing though is very high in fat and calories so with a few simple substitutions you can get that same great taste with a scaled down version of the waistline grabber.

Ingredients

12 servings =2 T. /serving= 22 calories

  • 1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt
  • 1 cup fat free cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2.T. minced fresh parsley(or 1 T. dried)
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika

Beat the cottage cheese and yogurt together in a small bowl until smooth and creamy(consistency of pudding). Add the remaining ingredients, stir well, cover and refrigerate overnite before use.
