Crockpot Dump Cake
Although there is many versions of this type of cake, Crockpot Dump Cake is probably one of the easiest. As the title states, place the ingredients in the pan, turn it on and you are done. For an equally good fall version of this cake, substitute a spice cake mix and light apple pie filling for a yummy Autumn treat. Ingredients- 20 oz can crushed pineapple(packed in its own juice)
- 21 oz can light(or sugarfree) blueberry or cherry pie filling
- 18 1/2 oz package yellow cake mix
- cinnamon
- 1/3 cup light soft tub margarine or light margarine sticks at room temperature
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts(optional)
Grease bottom and sides of slow cooker interior well.
Place 1/2 of the can of pineapple in bottom. Add 1/2 pie filling and spread across top of pineapple (do not mix). Sprinkle with 1/2 of the dry cake mix. Repeat these three layers with the other 1/2 of remaining can and box.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Dot with small dollops of margarine and walnuts all over the top.
Cover and cook on High for 2-3 hours.
Serve with sugarfree ice cream or light frozen yogurt. ***Tips: Do not try to "bake" this recipe on LOW in your crock pot. The finished product is not as good as the quick cook method.
