For a small frame subtract 10% (142-14=128 lbs) and for a large frame add 10% (142 + 14=154 lbs.) How To Decide On Your Ideal Caloric Intake Per DayYou now know how much is considered your ideal weight so this section will teach you how many calories a day you need on the diabetic weight loss program to retain your current weight or to start losing pounds.Take your ideal weight number, multiply it by 10 and then add the following: - 20% if you lead a sedentary lifestyle
- 33% if you do light physical exercise everyday
- 50% if you follow a moderate exercise program daily

This final number then is your recommended calories you must eat every day to stay at the weight you are.
