Diversified Rotation Diet: Play The Rotation Game
A diversified rotation diet can now be more important than ever. Food allergies or adverse reactions tend to be caused by foods we consume frequently. So after much research and testing, it has been shown that if you show only mild reactions to some foods, by spacing these food groups apart during your week, it is possible to prevent the reactions or entirely stop the development of some new allergies. Many doctors use this method of preventing "cyclic" allergies in their patients. Therefore If you seem sensitive to wheat, the Diversified Rotary Diet would recommend you only eat anything from this food group once every 4-5 days.If you can tolerate that small amount, you then know this cyclic allergen can be eaten once a week. If you show signs of an allergic reaction (hives or itching) then you know this is an "avoid" product line, called a fixed allergy. By working with your doctor, a food rotation diet can be set-up and maintained to help the less severe allergic individual still occasionally enjoy certain food groups they felt they must forever avoid. Five Steps To SuccessDoctors and nutritionists have developed five steps to this program to help the individual maintain their program at home. These steps include:- Avoid all trigger foods. Do not eat anything you know causes you a reaction
- Rotate food families on the minimum four day schedule. All foods are part of a biological classification-ex.almonds, walnuts, peanuts and cashews are four different food families even though we do call them all nuts, Since they are four different families, you may have a serving of each on four different days. You may not have another serving then until four days later for each variety.
- Keep a diet dairy. Everything you put in your mouth must be on this list. It is used to show where, when, the severity of symptoms, etc. when you show reactions. A doctor uses this to try and decide what food families you are sensitive to.
- Diversify your diet. Many people tend to eat the same things each day. Get in the habit of having fish for breakfast and toast and jelly for your evening meal. Any food item you are OK with can be ate at any meal as long as you pick different items. Stay away from any type of repetition. This is what tends to make a food allergic individual worse.
- Eat whole foods instead of combination foods. Casseroles, soups and stews are off limits during the testing phase.
As you can tell, every person's diversified rotation diet schedule will be different. By working with your physician, the five steps can be incorporated into your diet.
