Infant Allergy: Precautions Are Required For More Than Food
Not every infant allergy always relates to food allergies. The most common, other than food, is diapers. But your baby's bedding, bath products, and even baby's toys can often be the trigger for an allergic reaction also. If you have tried to determine where and how your baby always seems to have allergy symptoms and yet you just can't figure out why, check for some of the following by eliminating a few of these from your baby's surroundings for a few days to a week, one at a time, and see if the symptoms seem to be clearing up on your child. Common Items To AvoidTake a close look around the nursery and your home and there is many troublesome areas which require constant strict supervision. Some of the most common culprits may be:- Disposable Diapers do contain chemical additives such as bleach, perfumes, lotions and plastics.
- Baby Wipes generally are made with alcohol which will irritate a newborn's fresh skin.
- Soaps and Lotions always contain harsh abrasives and chemicals which are too strong for a newborn's skin. Use water only or a natural olive oil soap only when needed.
- Baby Clothes and Baby Bedding although the price is higher for all of the organic cloth selections, your baby does have a better chance of avoiding many allergens, asthma and skin rash symptoms. This ultimately does lead to fewer and cheaper medical visits.
- Baby Supplies such as strollers, slings, and car seats can now be purchased from all organic materials.
- Baby Toys are usually used for chewing or sucking. Soft PVC is the most prevalent baby toys on the market which are full of chemicals. Opt for natural woods or soft organic cottons as the fabric of choice. In addition we, the parents, must keep in mind that toys safety and safe playing surroundings should be our first priority.
Another topic of heated discussion is the subject of infant vaccinations. Many proponents of vaccinations state the necessity and safety of infant vaccinations. Then the other side states the danger and the possibilities existing that your child could end up getting autism from vaccinations or start the signs and symptoms of ADHD. Research to date has not been compelling enough to disprove the capability of this happening so many parents are denying the permission of giving their children the full round of childhood vaccinations. So as this list shows, your newborn child can ultimately be showing signs and symptoms of an infant allergy for many different reasons. Time, patience and by eliminating one item from your baby's presence per week may be all it takes for you to track down the culprit that your newborn child may be sensitive to.
