Pita Wedges

Pita wedges are good for a quick family snack, great as a party appetizer or even can be used as a lunchtime treat. Add some favorite accompaniments, such as chili, salsa, homemade dips and spreads etc. for a meal with fun and flair.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces 6' whole-wheat pita breads
  • 4 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano( or spices of your choice)
  • 4 T. grated Parmesan cheese(omit if dairy allergic)

Preheat broiler with oven rack 5" from heat source

Cut each pita in 1/2, open and place inside up on baking sheet.Spread 1 tsp. of olive oil on each half. Sprinkle with spices, and 1T. parmesan cheese.

Cut each pita half into 4 wedges with a sharp knife. Broil for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until cheese is melted and the wedges brown lightly. Do not overcook. Serve warm.
