Stocked Turkey Burgers
Stocked turkey burgers have a new flavor twist because of the unusual assortment of ingredients that when blended give them an out-of-this world taste. Don't be afraid to give these a try at least once, even if they do sound just a bit unusual. Ingredients- 1 T. canola or olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 small green sweet pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 Lb. ground turkey
- 1- 8 oz can light kidney beans, drained
- 4 T. sugarfree ketchup
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
Saute the onion and green peppers for 5 minutes in oil till soft. Add the garlic, cumin and chili powder and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat. Cool.
Place the ground turkey, kidney beans and ketchup in a large bowl. Stir in the cooled vegetable mixture and mix well. Shape into 4 equal sized patties.
Cook on an outdoor grill or under the broiler for approximately 15 minutes turning once during cooking. Do not undercook.
Serve with your choice of lettuce, tomato, sliced onion, pickle slices(sugarfree), sugarfree plain yogurt or mustard on a bun.
