Tasty Oatmeal Cookies With Raisins

by Bill
(Florida)

I have always hated oatmeal. Can't stand the stuff. But give me an oatmeal cookie, fresh from the oven. I'll eat the whole batch.

I'm probably a lousy diabetic. I know I'm not a very good cook. My wife did say though make the butter or oil in a recipe become applesauce or zucchini. (You can keep the zucchini.) She also said make the sugar cut in half. That's OK. I cut more than that because I want RAISINS!

Lots of raisins, makes it sweet to me.

Obviously she won't let me make them very often because I don't want to stop eating them when I make them. She always throws them in the freezer in baggies. I can't eat them all when they are hard.

Sometimes I add walnuts, not really necessary though- takes up space for my raisins.

My recipe, straight off the Quaker Oats guy box. Like I say, give it some applesauce and little sugar. Sometimes I even found out if I don't have enough applesauce, just smash up a banana. That works too.

Need to buy the little raisin boxes because I know I will eat the whole big box.
