Too Much Sugar!

by Kathi
(Pennsylvania)

Diabetes is essentially a disease of having too much sugar (glucose) in the bloodstream. There is multiple reasons for this imbalance, but the two most prevalent are:

  • lack of sufficient insulin in the blood to handle the circulating sugars (commonly the condition of a type 1 diabetic)

  • the body is no longer capable of utilizing the insulin which is already there in your system (this is the common problem with most type 2 diabetics)

Because insulin is mandatory for life, efforts must be made to insure your body adjusts to an efficient means of capturing, processing and then using this insulin. Left untreated, future serious complications of heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, amputation plus others are often going to be the end result.

Too Much Sugar - Where’d It All Come From

Many diabetics are adamant they do not exist solely on daily doses of junk foods so where does all this sugar come from? Even though sugar binging on sodas and fruit juice, candy and cookies, pies and cakes plus other convenience foods are obviously going to effect your sugars, many newly diagnosed patients are surprised to learn many fruits and vegetables, whole milk products, breads and grains plus pastas are also going to have a detrimental effect on the sugars in your bloodstream. Therefore, to your blood, that chocolate chip cookie you just ate can have the same effect as a grilled chicken sandwich. And here all along you were so careful to eat the grilled chicken, thinking you were eating healthy food. Your downfall though was the bread/bun it was served on.

Many of our common foods we eat daily do convert to natural sugars. But when combined in the right proportions plus eaten with certain other food groups, the excess blood sugars are essentially blunted, sometimes the effects eliminated.

Centuries ago, our ancestors had already figured out a diet of certain foods actually led to a longer and healthier life. Their recommendations were:

  • raw onions and garlic
  • edible mushrooms
  • broccoli, cabbage, turnips and dried beans
  • fenugreek and coriander seeds
  • barley and alfalfa grains

Surprisingly, today’s research has proven their recommendations do actually create a healthier and more energetic life expectancy if followed religiously.

Secret Combination To Control Errant Blood Sugars

What’s the secret? Think about it and it’s really easy actually. By combining the right types of foods on your plate each and every day during every meal and snack, you have conveniently beaten the odds of getting or keeping diabetes. And the name of this program is known as the whole foods diet. It is based on the premise, what your ancestors had access to, therefore they ate, when you reproduce a style of eating foods that are directly offered from mother nature, you also will maintain better health.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and two daily snacks, served from using fresh foods only, yields a lifetime of better health, energy levels, lower insulin resistance and the added bonus of weight loss without even trying.
