Tropical Pear Crunch

Tropical pear crunch is a pleasing taste of fruits with the crunch of slivered almonds. The finished product is a resemblance of a long-awaited trip to the islands.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple, do not drain
  • 1/4 cup apple juice or pineapple juice
  • 3 T. dried cranberries
  • 1 1/2 tsp quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 fresh pears, core and cut in half top to bottom
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

Place pineapple, juice, cranberries, tapioca and vanilla in crock-pot. Stir well.

Place pears, cut side down, on top of pineapple mixture. Cover. Cook on low for 4 hours.

Arrange pear halves in dessert bowl. Top with pineapple mixture. Sprinkle with granola and slivered almonds. Makes 4 servings.
